New Delhi: The Supreme Court bench led by the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde ordered Sajjan Kumar, convicted and serving a life sentence in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, to be produced before the AIIMS board at 10:30 am on March 5.
The Board will then submit a report on whether Kumar needs to be hospitalised or not.
The case pertaining to the bail of Congress member and 1984 anti-Sikh riots case accused Sajjan Kumar was heard by the bench comprising of CJI SA Bobde, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant.
Earlier, a medical report by the AIIMS was submitted by the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta before the apex court. A team of 8 doctors examined Kumar on December 10 and the report said that the patient was normal, but has been experiencing hypertension along with three more issues and further suggested quarterly checkups.
