Hyderabad:Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of 'Satya and Ahimsa' had influenced thousands of people across India throughout India. But the ones who were the most inclined towards his views were the people who were then termed as untouchables.
Gandhi's visit to Madhya Pradesh's Mandala was solely for the purpose of the upliftment of these untouchables.
He coined a new term 'Harijan' for them in order to fill the persisting void between the lower and upper classes of the society.
