Sambit Patra discharged two weeks after exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has been discharged, two weeks after he was hospitalised in Gurugram after exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Patra thanked his party for the support and said it would take him some more time to completely recover.

New Delhi: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, who was hospitalised two weeks back after exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, has now been discharged, the leader informed on Tuesday.

"With all your blessings, I have returned home after recuperating. It will take a little more time for me to recover completely," Patra said in a tweet in Hindi.

In another tweet, Patra thanked all BJP leaders and workers for standing by him during his illness. He said that the party worried about him "like a mother" during his illness.

According to reports, Patra was admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon after he showed symptoms of COVID-19 last month.

After he got hospitalised, many BJP leaders had wished him for a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who also developed a fever and has gone into self-isolation, underwent a COVID-19 test today, the report for which is expected by tonight or tomorrow.
