New Delhi: RSS's wing Swadeshi Jagran Manch has opposed the government's decision to conduct 5G trials in India by a Chinese company Huawei.
RSS unit opposes 5G Trials in India by Huawei, writes to PM Modi The RSS affiliated organisation has written to PM Modi requesting him to intervene and ask the department of telecommunications to roll back the decision.
While talking to ETV Bharat, the National Co-Convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Ashwini Mahajan raised his concern on the issue of national security and cited this as being the foremost reason behind their resistance to the decision.
"The presence of Chinese companies in our telecommunications network would compromise our national security as these companies have this unwritten agreement with the Chinese government that they will be sharing all the data of other countries where they work.
Also, this is very discouraging for our domestic players as they have also been preparing for greater technologies. They should be given some more time to develop infrastructure so that some domestic company should have this responsibility to conduct the trials and also provide services in the near future, said Ashwani Mahajan, National Co-Convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
In their letter, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has mentioned that Huawei has been banned in several countries as more and more countries realise the full implications of having Huawei and Chinese companies in their communication network.
There are ample pieces of evidence that lead to suspicion of Chinese companies indulging in infiltrating sensitive information from devices and equipment that it exports.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch has requested PM Modi to prove patronage to domestic companies and rather invest in 5G and 6G capacity development that will catapult India technologically.
According to the organisation, this will lead to creating the most advanced telecom ecosystem in the world in India, guaranteeing national security, jobs, exports and prosperity.
