Anurag Singh Thakur, MoS Finance and Corporate Affairs moved the Chit Funds (Amendment) Bill seeking regulation of chit funds and protect small investors.
The Bill was approved in the Lok Sabha on November 20.

WhatsApp snooping row: Ravi Shankar Prasad defends Centre
Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the government is committed to the data security of its people. "On 5 September, 2019 WhatsApp wrote to CERT-In providing update to the security incident reported in May 2019 stating that while the full extent of this attack may never be known, WhatsApp continues to review the available info. It also mentioned that based on WhatsApp data available, they believe that the attackers may have attempted to reach the devices of approximately 121 users in India. We are striving towards making messaging platforms more secure."

377 websites hosting child porn material taken down: Smriti Irani
As many as 377 websites hosting child pornography material have been taken down and 50 FIRs filed, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani said as she urged immediate reporting so that swift action can be taken.
Intervening on a Zero Hour mention by Vijila Sathyananth (AIADMK) on rise in child abuse cases due to easy access to pornography on mobile phones and Internet, Irani said methodology of reporting such incidents is being shared with the district administration for prompt action.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will today make a statement in the House on the government's efforts to promote foreign policy, focusing on high-level visits that have taken place recently.
On Wednesday, the External Affairs Minister in Lok Sabha asserted that India has successfully thwarted Pakistan's attempts to present an alarmist situation in the region in the wake of reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The winter session of Parliament began on November 18 and will run till December 13. During the session, 22 sittings will take place in which as many as 35 bills will be moved for consideration and passage.
