New Delhi: Rejecting Congress' charge that arrest of NRI businessman C.C. Thampi was politically motivated, the BJP on Tuesday said facts that are coming out one after the other have resulted in the arrest and there was no politics involved in the case.
It also termed Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, as the 'kingpin' of the case.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, BJP national spokesperson Sudesh Verma said that the investigative agencies were doing their work and they arrested Thampi on the basis of the findings in the money laundering case.
Thampi was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money laundering probe against Vadra and absconding arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari for the acquisition of alleged illegal assets abroad.
On being asked if Vadra too would be arrested soon in the case, he said that's for the agencies to decide but he being the 'kingpin' in the case, is in trouble.
