Bengaluru: A gang of burglars broke into a jewellery shop in Bengaluru and decamped with 50 kg of silver worth Rs 35 lakh, besides Rs 10,000 in cash. However, the police and jewellery shop owner are left perplexed as the burglars have left the gold ornaments in the shop untouched.

According to police, the incident took place allegedly in the wee hours of August 5 at 'Mataji jewellery' situated on Immadihalli main road in eastern Bengaluru's Whitefield.

Burglary caught on camera

However, the incident came to light when the shop owner opened the shop on Saturday morning.

The burglary was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the shop.

The robbers first broke the lock of the shutter to enter the shop and then the locker. The CCTV footages show two men getting away with silver kept in the locker.

Whitefield police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by shop owner Dharmaraj and begun an investigation.
