New Delhi:The Janata Dal (United)'s national spokesperson, KC Tyagi has praised PM Modi and appreciated the Centre's decision to arrange special trains for migrant workers in India on Saturday.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Tyagi said, "Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had made a hasty and irresponsible decision. He called back the people of his state from Nanded Gurdwara in Maharashtra by buses and nobody was thoroughly investigated. As a result, many people who returned to Punjab became corona positive and the number of infected persons in Punjab is increasing rapidly. But Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made no haste to bring back the trapped Bihar people."
"Our Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi admitted that it is not feasible to ferry the migrants home using buses. Without running special trains, it is not possible to bring back stranded migrant labourers and students from across the country in buses. CM Nitish Kumar had also requested PM Modi to run non-stop special trains to bring back 25 lakh migrant workers and students from the state stranded in different parts of the country and centre has accepted our request," Tyagi said.
"We welcome the decision of the centre to run special trains. The work of bringing back Bihar labourers and students stuck out of Bihar by special trains has been started. Food has also been arranged in trains," Tyagi said.
