Rajasthan: Doctor caught taking bribe in Tonk district

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Rajasthan arrested a gynaecologist for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1,000 to perform a surgery. The case has been registered under Sections 7 and 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Tonk (Rajasthan):A gynaecologist working at Zanana Hospital at Tonk district of Rajasthan has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking a bribe to perform a surgery.

The accused has been identified as Dr Gyanendra Bansal. It is reported that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught the doctor red-handed while he was taking bribe of Rs 1,000 from a man for conducting Dilation and curettage (D&C) surgery on his wife.

The couple had informed the Anti-Corruption Bureau team about the whole case stating that the doctor had demanded Rs. 1,000 in addition to the consultation fee to perform the surgery.

After learning about it, the ACB team decided to set a trap to catch him red-handed.

Soon after complainant handed over the money to the doctor, the ACB sleuths swooped on him and arrested him after recovering the money from his trouser’s pocket.

Later, the ACB also raided the doctor's residence from where they recovered an amount of over Rs 1 lakh.

The case has been registered under Sections 7 and 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
