Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress in-charge Ajay Maken on Sunday said that the state cabinet expansion is likely to happen soon as many of the party workers have given a thumbs up for it.
Maken, who is on a three days Kota tour, took stock of the party's performance in the state and feedback from various office bearers and workers from different areas. The Congress leader will also hold consultations with party leaders following which state cabinet expansion will be carried out soon.
The party had put up a spectacular show by winning 36 posts of Chairmen in urban local bodies out of 50 posts and the MLAs are expecting a decent position in the Ashok Gehlot's cabinet. However, state politics are not yet settled with Ajay Maken discussing various political issues with Gehlot and his bete noire former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot. Sources say that Maken has discussed the expansion of the state cabinet and appointments in the corporations' boards which is pending.
Asked about Kisan Samvad to be held on December 28, the leader said, "Various party leaders have been allocated duties for Kisan Samvad and Congress president Govind Dotasara is also looking after it. The party leaders will interact with the farmers on the three agri-sector laws."
