Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan): When he was diagnosed with cancer some 10 years ago, Zakir Siddiqui was devastated, but he fought his way through and survived the dreaded disease.
While some people might be bogged down by the harrowing experience, Siddiqui's misfortune made him stronger and he embarked on a mission to spread awareness on the ill effects of tobacco consumption and consequential chances of developing cancer, and he has devised a unique way of spreading awareness.
Whenever Siddiqui spots someone consuming tobacco, he walks up to them and points towards the surgical scars on his face, that he got from the cancer surgery, in a bid to encourage them to get rid of this "harmful habit".
