New Delhi:BJP National spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for meeting stranded migrants labourers in Delhi on Saturday and called it a photo-op by the Congress leader.

Reacting to Gandhi's meeting with the migrants, Shahnawaz Hussain asked the Congress leader that what he want to prove to the nation by doing this.

"Congress is politicising the matter and trying to mislead the public by their actions that Centre is doing nothing for them. Centre has been arranging food, trains for them. We gave them ration and transferred money directly into their accounts. He met them just for photo-op. There should be some sensitivity," Shahnawaz said.

On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi interacted with migrant labourers who were walking near Sukhdev Vihar flyover in Delhi to return to their home states. In the pictures shared by Congress on Twitter, Rahul Gandhi can be seen interacting with a group of migrants in Delhi's Sukhdev Vihar.

Shahnawaz said that Sonia Gandhi had fakely claimed that the train which was provided from Bihar and Gujarat for migrant workers were arranged by her. Whereas, Centre has already made it clear that it will provide as many trains it needs to take them to their home state.

He further said that Congress should support the Modi government to fight with Coronavirus pandemic.

Congres is continuously attacking BJP over the migrant workers' migration issue. After a new package announced for them, Congress slammed the BJP over the financial crises of these poor migrant workers.

Answering about this, Shahnawaz said that Centre has planned for every migrant worker and announced that the workers who reached their home town they will also get work under MGNREGA scheme and to implement the same government has issued a package of 48,000 crores package.

"It is a piece of good news that the migrant worker who returned to their home town will get jobs in their own native places because the Coronavirus threat is still there. 40, 000 crores fund which will help such a poor family so they can survive in their village without leaving the home state." Shahnawaa said.
