Pulwama martyr's daughter vows to follow father

Hemlata, daughter of Narayana Lal Gurjar, one of the 40 bravehearts who were martyred in the Pulwama attack, while talking to Etv Bharat expressed her wish to join the Indian Army.

Rajsamand (Rajasthan):Narayana Lal Gurjar of Binol village in the Rajsamand district, was among the 40 bravehearts who were martyred in the Pulwama attack, a year ago.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of Pulwama attack, ETV Bharat reached Gurjar's home and met his brave daughter Hemlata.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Hemlata said that she is currently completing her matriculation. When she was asked about her aim and ambition, Hemlata said that she wants to make her father’s name proud and wants to join the army like her brave father.

Hemlata further said, "I want to follow the footsteps of my brave father, who sacrificed his life for the glory of Mother India. I also want to devote my life for the nation and want to join the Army and become an officer."

Hemlata further said that she is already preparing herself to achieve her aim. It is notable that not only Hemlata but her brother Mukesh also nurses a desire to become an Army officer.

During this time it also emerged that even when Narayan Lal Gurjar used to come home for vacations, he used to make youngsters run and make them practice yoga too to ensure that they are fit enough to be selected for the Indian Army.

He also used to narrate tales of valour and patriotism to inspire youngsters.

The brave martyr’s daughter also said that she loves the motherland as her father did.
