Patna: Bihar Chief Minister and JDU Chief Nitish Kumar on Wednesday lost his cool when some people raised Lalu Prasad Yadav zindabad slogans during his rally in Bihar. Irked with some people raising slogans pro-Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo slogans during his campaign for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, Kumar asked them to not make 'halla'.

Upset with the sloganeering, the JDU chief said that if you don't want to vote for my party, please don't, but do not create nuisance. The Bihar Chief Minister also asked the people attending his rally whether the people raising slogans were doing the right thing, to which the crowd replied in a big 'No'.

When the crowd raised pro-Lalu slogans, Kumar appeared to have been needled and said, "Kya bol rahe ho, Kya bol rahe ho (What are you saying)."

Nitish advised the crowd to not do such things as it will only 'destroy the votes of the man for whom you are here.'

A visibly irate CM stopped at the middle of the speech to take a stock of the people who were shouting slogans. The CM was canvassing for Chandrika Rai, father of Aishwarya Rai who was married to Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap. Their marriage fell apart after the families relations turned sour.

Chandrika Rai quit the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and had joined JD(U) ahead of the assembly polls. Rai is contesting from Parsa assembly constituency.

Nitish said," When Chandrika came in 1985, I was also a member of the Vidhan Sabha as an MLA. Rai belonged to the Congress party and I was in the opposition. After I heard his speech, I went to him and congratulated him for his speech."

Earlier, the leader of the opposition and Chief Ministerial candidate for Mahaghatbandhan Tejashwi Pratap said that 'Nitish Ji is mentally and physically exhausted'.

Elections for the 243 assembly seats in Bihar will be held in three phases, the first phase for 71 seats on October 28, the second phase for 94 seats on November 3, and the third phase for the remaining 78 will be on November 7. The results will be announced on November 10.
