Hyderabad: In an online event in Bengaluru and Delhi, Japanese imaging and optical products manufacturing company Canon launched it's two new cameras EOS R5 and EOS R6. Kazutaka Kobayashi, President, and CEO of Canon India Pvt. Ltd started the event by introducing Canon.
C. Sukumaran, Director -ICP and CSP marketing division explained some basic features of Canon EOS R5 A EOS R6:-
- Being the world's first 8K movie camera, EOS R5 has an interchangeable lens camera, It also has a feature of recording with AF tracking without the crop factor.
- The EOS R5 can record movies at a high frame rate of 120 fps in 4K with AF tracking for smooth, slow-motion video.
- Both cameras have an in-body 5 axis image stabilizer that delivers as much stability as an 8 stop increase in the shutter speed. Click the video for more details:
Jaikumar Pillai, Assistant director -ICP and CSP marketing division explained the details of the features of the cameras like processor, AF performance, etc.
Processor
- EOS R5 and EOS R6 features the most advanced imaging processor of Canon till date, DIGIC X processor with newly design full-frame sensor which optimizes all aspects of image and video quality.
- With the enhanced speed of the image sensor, both cameras can achieve a burst shooting rate of 20 frames per second(fps).
- With 45 megapixels CMOS sensor, EOS R5 has a low light sensitivity of ISO 51,200. EOS R6 has 20.1 megapixels CMOS sensor with a low light sensitivity of ISO 102,400.
- Both cameras are compatible with 4:2:2 10-bit canon log and 4:2:2 10 bit HDR picture quality.
- Both the cameras have digital lens optimizer technology.
- In EOS R5, DPRAW provides an additional advantage to adjust background clarity and portrait light after shooting for the professional touch.
- Both the cameras have Faster AF processing (high accuracy, wide area, high-speed AF), AF area courage: horizontal: 100% and vertical: 100%.
- High speed and high precision Dual pixel CMOS AF II has been further improved by enhancing the image reading speed of the CMOS sensor and processing speed of DIGIC X.
- DIGIC X’s advanced algorithm improves the accuracy of eye detection and human subject detection (human/animal AF detection).
- An algorithm developed Using deep learning technology (EOS iTR AF X) allows the cameras to detects the subject’s head in conditions that are very difficult for a conventional camera.
- The combination of the head, eye, and face detection reduces the change that the camera will lose the sight of the subject due to movement.
- Both the cameras also have animal detection and Auto-select Body detection technology.
- Stable tracking with head detection.
- High-speed continuous shooting.
Low light AF capabilities
- A low noise CMOS sensor and DIGIC X imaging engine perform advanced AF computations allowing high precision AF even in poorly lit or low contrast shooting conditions.
- The remarkable sensitivity of both the cameras allows the users to capture the pictures at the decisive movement while looking through the viewfinder even in poorly lit conditions without a lot of additional equipment.
- the ÉOS R5 supports focusing brightness range of EV -6 while EOS R6 takes it a step further by supporting a brightness range of EV -6.5.
- Both EOS R5 and R6 AF can operate at the setting as low as F-22 with a fully open aperture because of the improvements in the dual pixel CMOS AF tools calculation performance.
