Nepal: Prachanda revolts against Oli, says fed up with his functioning

Launching a scathing attack on Nepal's communist Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, his biggest adversary in the party PK Dahal Prachanda said that he is fed up with the unilateral manner of Oli's functioning. Prachanda also stated that it is not easy to rule the country with the help of the army and it is also not possible to split the party and run the government by allying with the opposition.

Hyderabad:Nepal's communist Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is facing a revolt from within his party amid acts of him worsening diplomatic relations with India.

Oli's biggest rival in the party PK Dahal Prachanda, former Prime Minister, has now indicated that he is fed up with the unilateral manner of Oli's functioning.

The fault lines were out in the open during the communist party standing committee meeting on Wednesday when Oli and Prachanda hurled allegations of failing the government and the party against each other.

According to reports in Kathmandu post, Prachanda had made a "sensitive" revelation in the meeting about what Oli had been up to apparently to survive as the Prime Minister.

"We have heard that Pakistani, Afghani or Bangladeshi models are being worked out to remain in power, but such attempts are not going to succeed," Prachanda said.

He further said that it is not easy to rule the country with the help of the army and it is also not possible to split the party and run the government by allying with the opposition.

Notably, a member of the standing committee told the Kathmandu Post that the way Prachanda spoke in Wednesday's meeting clearly specifies that he has given a powerful message to Oli indicating that latter's position is in danger.
