Social activist Anna Hazare speaking to ETV Bharat The 81-year-old activist lamented that lack of awareness among voters and focus of political parties on winning the elections by hook or crook has led to the degeneration of politics.
In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat, Hazare said that poll symbols of political parties should be removed as such symbols are anti-constitution.
"Nowhere in the constitution, it has been mentioned about the party and poll symbols so these symbols need to be removed. Our electoral process needs to be reformed and I am here to spread awareness among people regarding this," said Hazare
He further said that the constitution doesn't talk of any kind of group. Today, the group is contesting elections and that's the root cause of many problems like Corruption, hooliganism, hatred and so on.
The octogenarian added that he believed in the Constitution of India, in which there was no mention of election symbols and political parties.
