Policeman punished by ADG for not keeping weapon in good condition

Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Prem Prakash got angry when he saw that a police inspector was not able to fire a shot from his pistol. The ADG had to make the inspector run with his hands up in the police station when he saw that he could not even dismantle the weapon. Dismantling and assembling weapons is a part of their basic training.

Pratapgarh: A police inspector was punished when he could not fire a shot and dismantle his pistol by Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Prem Prakash.

The ADG was on a visit to inspect the situation at a police station in Prayagraj zone and when he started checking weapons of the police officials there, he found out that their pistols and guns were jammed and did not work well.

As he asked one of the police inspectors to fire from his pistol, he failed to so. The inspector also failed to dismantle his pistol. On this, the officer lost his cool and asked him to run in the police station while keeping his hands up.


The ADG, who is well aware of the situation in police stations in the state, directed the police officials to keep their weapons in good condition as they may need them anytime while discharging their duty.


He also asked them to get the weapons serviced and be ready for any situation.
