Bhuj(Gujarat): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alluded to the Bhuj earthquake in his May 12 televised address to the nation, an old picture of him on a two-wheeler taking stock of situation in Bhuj has gone viral on social media.
"This photograph was taken when Narendra Modi, as a general secretary of BJP, visited Kutch three days after the earthquake. He went from Mahakaleshwar temple near Padeshwar Chowk of Bhuj and visited areas completely destroyed by the earthquake," Pankaj Jhala who is seen in the photograph with Modi, said.
PM Modi's old picture from Bhuj earthquake goes viral He also added that after surveying the Bhuj town, Modi had then said it was time to become self-reliant and self-sufficient so that Bhuj, one day can be considered as a model of development.

"PM Modi was able to walk his talk, after he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Kutch district, indeed emerged as a role model with a growth rate much higher than other districts," Pankaj Jhala elaborated.
Jhala endowing confidence in Modi's leadership said, "The way he took out Gujarat from the misfortune of earthquake is the same way he will emerge victorious in defeating the coronavirus pandemic".
PM Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation, a day after his six-hour meeting with Chief Ministers on the road ahead after May 17, when the nationwide coronavirus lockdown is due to end. This was his third such address since he announced the lockdown in late March to slow the spread of the highly infectious COVID-19.
