Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 65th edition of monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat' praised an owner of salon in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, who gave away Rs 5 lakh that he had saved for his daughter's education.
C Mohan was insisted by his daughter Nethra, a 13 year-old girl to donate his hard-earned savings to help people in distress during the covid-19 pandemic.The 46-year-old man relished the moment when his act of humanity was recognised by the Prime Minister.

“It was around 11 am when I was working in the salon, our honourable Prime Minister appreciated my help and wholeheartedly thanked me. I rushed to my house and conveyed this message to my family, who erupted in joy,” Mohan said.
On the other hand, his daughter Nethra has been appointed as a ''Goodwill Ambassador to the Poor'' for United Nations Association for Development And Peace (UNADAP). Moreover, The Dixon Scholarship has awarded Nethra a scholarship amount of Rs 1,00,000.
