PM Modi is insulting Indian army: Rahul Gandhi

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi insults the Army when he says UPA's surgical strikes were video games.

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, by saying that PM Modi is disrespecting Indian Army by comparing surgical strikes to video games.

While addressing the media, Rahul Gandhi said, "The army, air force or navy is not PM Modi's personal property. These surgical strikes were not carried out by Modiji, it was carried out by our forces. When he says that surgical strikes during UPA government tenure were done in video games then he is not insulting Congress but the army."

"This has been done by the Army and we don't want to politicise it and PM Modi should respect the dignity of armed forces," he further added.

Earlier, former PM Manmohan Singh has also mentioned in an interview that during the UPA government tenure multiple surgical strikes were conducted but they never used them to seek votes during elections.
