PM Modi hails women's contributions in various fields

Women from different walks of life have started sending in their entries for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday on his Twitter account. Modi's tweet referred to the response to his call, earlier this week, for women to take over his social media accounts for a day on Women's Day.

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed women's contribution in different fields, saying woman power is securing the country and that he has been getting many motivating stories on exceptional women achievers.

Earlier, late on Monday evening, Modi created a sense of suspense after he tweeted- "This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted."

He has 52.3 million followers on Twitter alone.

Soon after his post, "No Sir" started to trend on top, urging him to reconsider his decision.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi cleared the air when he tweeted that on this Women's Day (March 8), he will give away all his social media accounts to "inspiring" women, for a day.

So, how do you tell the Prime Minister your story, if you think you are the one? You can tweet or post it on his Facebook or Instagram timeline. One can also shoot a short video and post it on YouTube using the hashtag.
