New Delhi:Former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, G Parthsarthy lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for following a sensible policy towards the Pakistan amid esclating tension between the two neighbouring countries.
Parthsarthy claimed that the relations with Pakistan cannot be improved in one prime minister's tenure as it is a long-unsolved problem.
He said, "PM Modi started with inviting Pak PM Nawaz Sharif for his swearing-in ceremony and then making a surprise visit to Lahore for the wedding of Nawaz Sharif's grand daughter in 2016. Then, the Pathankot attack happened followed by recent Pulwama terror attack which was a catalyst moment in Indo-Pak relations. This left India with no option but to hit back."
