New Delhi: As Haryana goes to polls on October 21, Congress party is facing a crisis, not because of its political opponents but because of serious internal contradictions.
To defuse the growing factionalism over Ashok Tanwar, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera issued an official party statement advising the party leaders to pay attention towards the state assembly polls.
Ashok Tanwar was removed from the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president post last month. He resigned from Congress party alleging irregularities in the distribution of tickets. However, his name is still included in the list of party's star campaigners.
Senior Congress leader from Haryana and candidate from Kaithal constituency Randeep Singh Surjewala suggested the party leadership to listen to Tanwar’s grievances and bring him back to the party fold. On the other hand, current HPCC president Selja Kumari said that Ashok Tanwar's chapter is closed.
