Hyderabad: BJP's national general secretary Arun Singh has urged the leaders from all states to come forward and be a part of the exhibition-cum-e-auction of gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past six months.
More than 2,700 mementos, including shawls and other gifts, including paintings of Tagore are at display in the National Modern Art gallery in New Delhi till October 3. The auctioned money will then be used for projects like Namami Gange and other such initiatives.
Speaking to ETV Bharat on the issue, another BJP leader Sudesh Varma said that this ritual isn't a new one and Modi has been distributing the money generated from his gifts to the poor and the unprivileged.
As not many gifts were sold at the exhibition that began on September 14, the BJP leader has now directed the state leaders to mobilise the party workers to go ahead and help auction them as it will contribute to the bigger cause.
