Pakistan's attempt to smuggle weapons, narcotics foiled by BSF

The Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an attempt by Pakistan to smuggle weapons, narcotics near International Border Arnia in Jammu. 58 Packets of suspected narcotics, two pistols, four magazines and ammunition were recovered from the area and the BSF troops fired upon an intrusion from Pakistan.

Jammu: The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and narcotics from Pakistan on the International Border (IB) in Jammu' Arnia, officials said on Sunday. The attempt was made on Saturday night in BSF border outpost, Budhwar.

The BSF observed suspicious movement near the IB in the night and thwarted the attempt to smuggle arms, ammunition and narcotics into the Indian territory.

"The BSF troops of Border Outpost (BOP) Budhwar/Bullechak observed suspicious movement of a Pakistan citizen near the IB during night hours and subsequently fired, as the person approached the fence. Following the firing, he ran to Pakistan side.

"During a thorough search of the area later in morning hours around 2 am following items were recovered -- 58 Packets of suspected narcotics, two pistols, four magazines and ammunition," said the BSF.
