The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) plenary meet is underway and all eyes are on its final call as to whether or not Pakistan will continue in the Greylist.
The global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog will undertake a thorough review of Islamabad's performance in fulfilling the global commitments and standards in the fight against money laundering and terror financing.
The outcome of the FATF meeting will be declared on Friday which will decide the fate of Pakistan.
Replying to a media query on FATF meet, the MEA spokespersons said, “Pakistan has addressed only 21 action items so far out of the 27 action items given to them under their action plan. Six important action items yet to be addressed. As is well known, Pakistan continues to provide a haven to terrorist entities and individuals”.
Pakistan has also not taken any action against several terrorist entities and individuals, including those who have been proscribed by UNSC-such as Masood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Srivastava reiterated.

Quoting PM Modi’s speech during the event, Srivastava added, “While the world is a better place for the United Nations and much has been achieved, today’s challenges cannot be fought with outdated structures and comprehensive reform of UN is needed”.
It is to be noted that, to commemorate the founding day of the United Nations, Department of Post, Government of India will be releasing a stamp in the presence of EAM S. Jaishankar.
India attaches the highest priority to the expansion on the UN security council in both its categories-permanent and non- permanent so that it reflects the contemporary realities of the world.
