Srinagar: Days after being recovered from a river in Baltistan, the body of Leh woman will be handed over to Indian Army by Pakistani rangers, today evening, officials said on Friday. According to the police, the body of the woman would be handed over by Pakistan along with the Karnah sector in Kupwara district today.
"The woman has been identified as Khair-un-Nissa, a resident of Leh. She went missing on August 26 after being drowned near her residence. Her body was recovered by local residents from Shyok river in Baltistan, " a senior police official said. He added "the Pakistan administration got in touch with us and shared pictures of the body. Once the identification was done we started the process of bringing back the body."
