Pakistan responds to India's proposal for resuming talks on Kartarpur Corridor

In a bid to improve Indo-Pak relations, Pakistan Foreign Ministry has responded in a positive way to India's proposal for resuming talks on Kartarpur Corridor. Talks between the two nations over the corridor had hit a roadblock over the construction of a bridge on river Ravi.

New Delhi:After India's initiation to resume delegation-level talks between India and Pakistan officials to finalise modalities of the proposed Kartarpur Corridor, Pakistan Foreign Ministry has responded in a positive way.

In its statement, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson's office said: "We have conveyed to India that second meeting to discuss the draught agreement for finalizing the mortality is of Kartarpur corridor and related technical issues will be held on July 13th, 2019 at Wagah Border".
It further added saying, "Pakistan remains committed to expediting progress on the matter to ensure that corridor is operationalised in the time for 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak in November 2019".

The Kartarpur talks between India and Pakistan hit a roadblock over the construction of a bridge on river Ravi.

It was an Indian delegation proposal to construct a kilometre long bridge over river Ravi to avoid any floodwaters. While the Pakistan delegate didn't like the idea and suggested to construct an elevated road.
