New Delhi:Pakistan continues to raise Kashmir issue at various international platforms. In the latest, Chairman of the Pakistan Senate in his letter to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) blamed developments in Jammu and Kashmir for his country's inability to APA plenary scheduled for December 2019.

Terming it as unfortunate and not at all surprising, Harsh V Pant, Director of Studies at Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi, said that India should be prepared for such eventualities in the future as Islamabad is desperate for not getting any international traction on the Kashmir issue.

He stressed, 'as Pakistan recognises the fact that India has the world support on Kashmir. They are going to raise this issue at various forums. I think this is going to be their modus operandi to move forward.'

Meanwhile, Pakistan received a befitting reply from senior Congress leader and member of parliament from Thiruvananthpuram Shashi Tharoor at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Belgrade itself.

Denouncing the letter from the Chairman of the Pakistani senate, Tharoor accused him of unnecessarily politicizing the APA platform. Calling it an internal matter of India, Tharoor claimed that there is nothing in the situation in Jammu and Kashmir which affects living and working conditions in his country.
