Talking about Opposition parties' visit to Srinagar to take stock of the current situation prevailing in the region, BJP Senior leader Vijay Goyal stated that the move proves that Opposition does not want peace in Kashmir as they have violated the legal advisory issued in the region keeping in mind the revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.

New Delhi: Reacting on the Opposition parties' visit to Srinagar and their return without meeting locals of the valley, Senior BJP leader and MP Vijay Goyal claimed that Opposition does not want peace in Kashmir. Goel alleged that Congress deliberately wants to disturb the unity among people across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Goyal praised the Bharatiya Janata Party for revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Goel also maintained that Opposition violated the legal advisory issued in the region for the safety and security of the locals.

"The administration had requested them against visiting the state by sating that attempts should not be made to disturb the gradual restoration of normal life," Goyal added.

Vijay Goyal said that if Congress continues to oppose the modification of Article 370 then it might help them landing up to failure in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Talking about the detention of the leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, Goyal clarified that this has been done to maintain normalcy in the region as it was expected that those people might provoke the locals disturbing unity and peace in Kashmir.

However, no major incident of stone-pelting and protest has been reported so far, Goyal maintained.

Raising questions against his visit to Srinagar, Goyal asked Rahul Gandhi about his rush to the valley in a crucial situation when the entire Army and administration is putting their hard efforts to maintain normalcy in the region and alleged that Congress is keeping politics ahead of security and development of the nation.

He appealed the Opposition parties to not visit Kashmir for playing politics as its the matter of the integrity of the country.
