Shah greets people on Onam
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday greeted people on the occasion of Onam, hoping that the festival would bring harmony, good health and prosperity. Onam is a major harvest festival for the people of Kerala. It is celebrated in the memory of legendary king Mahabali.
"Warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Onam. May this festival bring joy, harmony, good health and prosperity in everyone's lives. Happy Onam!" Shah tweeted.

Kerala Governor extends greeting on Onam, wishes for everyone's prosperity

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Sunday greeted the people on the joyous occasion of Onam.
"I convey my heartiest Onam greetings to the people of Kerala and other Keralites all over the world," Khan said in an official statement.
"I sincerely wish that every home is blessed with prosperity and plenty, during this Onam season. May the melody and sparkle of Onam fill our minds with the joy of festivity. Let Onam also be a celebration of our love and oneness which enabled us to overcome adversities with fortitude," he added.

Goa Governor greets Keralite community on Onam

On the occasion of Onam, Goa Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state, especially the Keralite community.

Koshyari said that the festival symbolizes "act of giving and being selfless towards mankind and following the religion of humanity."

"May this year's Onam festival bring immense happiness, joy and prosperity to one andall. Onam, though essentially a harvest festival, commemorates the annual visit of the legendary and mythical demon king 'Mahabali' who is considered to have ruled ancient Kerala," Koshyari said in his message.

Prez wishes people on Onam

President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday extended greetings on the occasion of Onam calling it a "symbol of our rich cultural heritage and an expression of our gratitude to Mother Nature at the arrival of the new crop". He urged the people to take care of people belonging to the weaker sections of society and follow guidelines to contain COVID-19.

"Onam greetings to everyone! The festival of Onam is a symbol of our rich cultural heritage and an expression of our gratitude to Mother Nature at the arrival of the new crop. Let us take care of people from the weaker sections of the society and follow guidelines to contain COVID-19," the President tweeted.

Naidu extends Onam greetings
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday greeted people on Onam, hoping that the festival brings peace, prosperity and happiness to everyone. Onam is celebrated to honour the memory of legendary king Mahabali, the ruler of Kerala, Naidu observed.
          

"On this Onam, let us remind ourselves of the values of honesty, integrity, compassion, selflessness & sacrifice which the great king Mahabali espoused," the Vice President Secretariat tweeted quoting Naidu. "May this joyous festival bring peace, prosperity and happiness to everyone," he said.

On the auspicious ocaasion of Onam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind extended their greetings.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his greetings to the people on the occasion of Onam on Monday, saying this is a unique festival that celebrates harmony. The prime minister also posted a clip of his mention of the festival in his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on Sunday.
         

"Greetings on Onam. This is a unique festival, which celebrates harmony," he tweeted. "It is also an occasion to express gratitude to our hardworking farmers. May everyone be blessed with joy and best health."
          

In the clip, Modi had noted in the address that Onam is increasingly turning out to be an international festival, with the festival now being celebrated abroad as well. Onam is a harvest festival which is celebrated in Kerala.
