Odisha artist makes life-size Gandhi glasses to mark 73rd I-Day

Harigobinda Moharana, an artist from Odisha's Brahmapur, has made a life-size replica of Mahatma Gandhi's iconic glasses to mark the 73rd Independence Day. While one lens of the eyeglass reads "Vande Mataram", the other lens says "Swachha Bharat", and the bridge represents the tricolour or the national flag.

Odisha:With the nation all set to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day on Thursday, an artist from Odisha's Brahmapur has made a life-size replica of Mahatma Gandhi's iconic glasses to mark the occassion and pay a tribute to the father of the nation by promoting his message of cleanliness.

It took five days for Harigobinda Moharana to prepare the piece of art.

The spectacle also popularly known as Gandhi's glasses weighs 40 kilograms and is around six-feet in width.

While one lense of the glass reads "Vande Mataram", the other lens says "Swachha Bharat", and the bridge represents the tricolour or the national flag.

Moharana made the eyeglasses out of scrap metal and it is has been selected to be displayed during the Independence Day parade in the city and is supposed to be handed over to the Brahmapur municipality.
