New Delhi: Reacting to Congress' call for a 'Bharat Bachao rally', the BJP on Saturday said that India is safe and it is the opposition party that needs to be saved.

"India is in no danger. It's the Congress that is in danger and needs to be saved," BJP national spokesperson Prem Shukla told ETV Bharat here.

He said that the grand old party was not getting any chance to indulge in corruption during the Narendra Modi regime and that's what is causing problems for its leaders.

The Congress does not have any solid issue to criticize the government on and the proposed rally shows their mental bankruptcy, he said, adding that it would not work for them as people understand everything.

Other political parties that are associated with the Congress are also facing a survival crisis and hence it was their effort to save themselves and not the country.

Earlier in the day, the Congress announced that its district-level and state-level agitations against the Modi government's "anti-people policies" would culminate in a rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 30.
