New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday asserted that neither has anyone intruded into Indian territory nor has anyone taken over any post.
In his closing remarks at an all-party meeting on the face-off between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, Modi said the whole country is hurt and angry at what the Chinese have done.

India wants peace and friendship, but its sovereignty is supreme, he said.

Indian forces are doing what they have to do to protect the country, whether it is in terms of deployment, action or counter-action, Modi told political leaders.

"Our patrolling capacity has increased due to newly built infrastructure, especially along LAC," he said. The meeting was convened after 20 Indian Army personnel were killed in a violent face-off with Chinese troops in Galwan Valley in Ladakh.

Here are the key points:

  1. Neither have they intruded into our border, nor has any post been taken over by them (China).
  2. India wants peace and friendship, but upholding sovereignty is foremos.
  3. 20 of our jawans were martyred, but those who dared Bharat Mata, they were taught a lesson.
  4. We are capable of handling any difficult situation
  5. We have given powers to the defence to deal with the situation.
  6. We have given importance to infrastructure development to protect our borders.
  7. The requirements of our armed forces, be it fighter planes, advanced helicopters, missile defence systems, that too is being given importance.
  8. The country has immense faith in our soldiers.
  9. I want to assure our soldiers that the entire country is with them.
  10. The areas which were not really monitored earlier, even there our jawans are now able to monitor and respond well.
  11. Movement of those which used to take place without any disruption earlier is now checked by our jawans, which at times leads to build-up of tension.
  12. Through better infrastructure, the supply of material and essentials to jawans in the difficult terrain has become comparatively easier.
  13. India has never come under external pressure. Whatever is necessary for the country’s protection will be expedited.
