Munger (Bihar):In a bizarre incident, a candidate of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) who had contested from Jamalpur constituency in the recently concluded Assembly elections in Bihar, managed to secure only two votes despite having 18 members in his family.
According to the NCP candidate Indradev Das, he was assigned booth number 177 which comes under Jamalpur constituency. Das said that he has full confidence that his family members had voted for him as all of them were actively involved in the campaign program.
He also claimed that he was a tough competitor of a JD(U) candidate in the recently concluded elections.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, he said, "I have 18 voters in my family. All of them had voted at booth number 177 on October 28. All of them were actively supported me during campaigning program and also helped me financially. So, it is impossible to secure only two votes."

Similarly, an independent candidate from Punjab who contested the Lok Sabha elections was in tears after claiming he had received just five votes despite having nine voters in his family. Neetu Shuttern Wala, who contested from Jalandhar constituency, admitted on air that even his family members had betrayed him.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday declared the final result around 4 a.m. with the NDA bagging 125 seats just three votes more than the magical figure of 122. The Mahagathbandhan has managed to obtain just 110, AIMIM 5, BSP one, LJP one and an independent got one seat.
