Raipur: Chhattisgarh is going to hold its first National Tribal Dance Festival in state capital Raipur between December 27 to 29.
The event, which is being organised to preserve and promote tribal folk art, will showcase traditional tribal dances performed on weddings, crop harvesting, festivals, and on other occasions.
Rahul Gandhi will inaugurate the three-day national-level tribal dance festival which will be held at science college grounds.
Several senior Congress leaders are expected to attend the event. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will preside over the function.
Around 39 tribal groups would be participating in the four different categories covering around 43 dance styles.
More than 2500 artists from 24 Indian states and 6 different countries are going to participate in this festival.
The participating states are: Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir.
Artists from Uganda, Maldives, Belarus, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Thailand are also going to perform in the land of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on October 12, 2019, unveiled the logo of the National Tribal Dance Festival at his residence. He also released social media pages of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including the festival website www.tribalfest2019.in.
