The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in the city on Wednesday as well. Around 51 mm of rain was recorded in just a span of three hours till 5:30 am on Wednesday, almost five times the average rainfall recorded in a day in Mumbai.

Daily commuters are facing huge trouble as railway tracks are submerged in several areas like Sion station, Matunga station, Shiv station of Central Railway and Chembur Railway Station at Harbor Railway.

Meanwhile, traffic has also been diverted due to waterlogged roads in several parts of the city including Hindmata and Kings Circle.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also tweeted IMD's weather forecast that intermittent/heavy rain is expected in the city and suburbs.
