New Delhi: In an attempt to promote innovation and creativity, the Ministry of Human Resources and Development on Tuesday launched Yukti 2.0, a platform for technological innovation that will help students and faculty to showcase their innovative ideas and connect with the potential investors.
The portal was developed by the innovation cell of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Initially, the programme was named as Massive Indian Novelty Depository (MIND) but the name was later changed after HRD Minister Ramesh Pokriyal suggested to give it an Indian name.
While launching Yukti 2.0 during a virtual conference, Pokriyal said, "Yukti 2.0 is a logical extension of the earlier version of Yukti. This is a very important step in the direction of making 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' as our youngsters are innovative and creative and we should make every effort to help them convert their ideas into enterprises. An initiative like Yukti 2.0 will help in fostering the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in our academic institutions" he said.
He further said that the database will provide a clear picture of the state of the innovation ecosystem of our higher educational institutions. This will also help the government to identify bottlenecks and formulate appropriate policies to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the country.
"The portal can be accessed by businessmen, farmers and other people working across different regions of the country. Educational institutions, students and teachers can also access the platform to put up their innovations and ideas for start-up on Yukti 2.0 and utilise the platform for commercialisation."
