MEA: India to boycott Pak National day celebration

Government of India has decided not to send any of its representatives and will boycott Pak National Day celebration in Islamabad.

New Delhi: Pakistan is celebrating 'Pak National Day' in Islamabad on March 23rd and in response Pakistan High Commission decided to send invitation to Hurriyat representatives on its national day.

Meanwhile, the Government of India has decided not to send any of its representatives and will boycott Pak National Day celebration in Islamabad.

The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "India has taken the decision after Pak High Commission decided to send the invitation to Hurriyat leaders."

"We are very clear that any attempt by Pakistani leadership to engage with Hurriyat representatives will not be taken lightly," Kumar added.

Over the years, Indian representatives have taken part in the annual event but this year, India will not be the part of Pak National Day.
