NCP leader Sharad Pawar had earlier accused Uddhav Thackeray of mishandling the covid-19 crisis the state as numbers of coronavirus cases continue to soar.

The discussion on the ongoing lockdown and the decision of lifting it in some areas were on the agenda list of this meeting.

Amid reports of friction in the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, state Assembly Speaker Nana Patole on Wednesday said there is no such "emergency" or "political situation" and "that the situation in Maharashtra is not against the current government".

"Whatever is being said in the media over Maharashtra political situation, there is no such situation in the state. At this time, we are only working towards fighting COVID-19. We are following all guidelines of the Government of India," Patole told reporters in Delhi.

The meeting likely commenced at 11 AM and was being attended attended by senior Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders.

The attendees also shared their ideas and plans in order to control the spread of COVID-19 across the state.(ANI)
