Congress gives notice to discuss Delhi riots in LS
The Congress has given notice to discuss the issue of Delhi riots in Lok Sabha. Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury gave notice to Speaker Om Birla to suspend all business in the House to discuss riots in Delhi. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the government is ready to discuss all issues as per rules.

LS pays obituary reference to late JD(U) MP Baidyanath Prasad Mahto
New Delhi: On the first day of the second half of the Budget Session, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm after an obituary reference to Baidyanath Prasad Mahto, JD(U) MP from Valmiki Nagar, Bihar who passed away on February 28.
As soon as the House convened, Speaker Om Birla expressed condolences over Mahto's death and adjourned the House till 2 pm.
The 72-year-old leader was unwell and under treatment for a few days and was on ventilator at AIIMS in New Delhi.
In 2009, Baidyanath Prasad Mahto of JD(U) emerged victorious in this seat by defeating the IND candidate by a margin of 1,83,675 votes which was 30.64% of the total votes polled.
