Hyderabad: Like other residents, the criminals were also home-bound during the lockdown which made it easier for the police to arrest them.

In a massive campaign launched by the cops, a large number of wanted criminals, gangsters, bootleggers and gamblers have been put behind the bars.

The police officials were able to concentrate and uproot criminals due to the drop in the crime rate, hence, efficiently using their time and resources.

Some of these offenders were involved in heinous crimes and were evading police for a long time.

With the implementation of lock-down, not only civilians but even the convicts were forced to stay at home. Amid tight security and a large number of checkpoints in the district, they were unable to change their hideouts frequently as they usually did to escape the police.
