Bengaluru: Progress in digital technology has brought about an unprecedented transformation in all walks of life including education. In view of this, it has been decided to implement ‘Karnataka LMS’, LMS based digital learning in 430 government first-grade colleges, 87 Government polytechnics and 14 government engineering colleges from the academic year 2020-21. This measure will have a progressive impact on pedagogy for about 24,000 teachers and 4.5 lakh students.
LMS based digital learning is a novel and a first of its kind initiative of the government of Karnataka, a boon to the students of Government Higher Education Institutions, especially those from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society.
LMS based digital learning is a platform to revolutionize the teaching-learning process by effecting transformative changes in delivery of content, access and assessment. It is a comprehensive system which empowers teachers, enriches students and bridges the digital divide. It provides access to all, anytime, anywhere.
