India's largest COVID-19 care centre is ready to operate with 10,100 beds and 150 doctors. The Bangalore international exhibition centre campus on Tumkur road was converted into the COVID-19 care centre.

Bengaluru: The Bangalore international exhibition centre on Tumkur road has been converted into India's largest COVID-19 care centre.

With 10,100 beds, the Karnataka government is all set to operate India's biggest COVID care centre catering exclusively to asymptomatic patients at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) campus.

A press release issued on Sunday stated that asymptomatic persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 would be housed here.

The centre has enough toilets, kitchen areas and space to cater to a large number of patients as well as set up for nursing and rest stations for health workers.

The centre has around 150 Doctors who will man the facility, and it also has oxygenated beds to accommodate in-house emergencies.

The centre is well ventilated and has separate recreational facilities for both adult and children along with LED screens.

On Sunday morning, MLA for Yelahanka S.R. Vishwanath, accompanied by BBMP Commissioner B.H. Anil Kumar and senior civic officials, visited the centre and inspected the facilities.
