Kottayam: Even as the COVID pandemic has been chaotic and has badly affected the lives of people all over the world, on the flip side, the COVID lockdown has helped many discover their hidden talents and skills.
Two friends from Thidanadu, Erattupetta in Kottayam district of Kerala have come up with a mini crane which can be easily operated on a motor bike’s engine.
Dennis, a driver and Pramod, a daily wage labourer are behind the design and development of the mini crane. Dennis attempted to make a device to help Pramod, who usually goes for the work of digging wells, and finds it very tough to pull up the soil and rocks from within the well.
As Dennis and Pramod realised that whatever was found on Youtube videos were not practical and effective, they decided to design and make one on their own. It took the duo three months to complete the making of the mini crane.
