K'taka political crisis: DK Shivakumar accuses BJP of misusing authority

Congress leader and Karnataka Irrigation Minister, DK Shivakumar said that he had booked a room on Wednesday to meet his colleagues but Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and officials misused their authority and that's why he had cancelled his booking. Police have invoked the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and imposed Section 144 around the hotel.

Bengaluru (Karnataka):Amid Karnataka political crisis, while speaking to media, senior Congress leader and Karnataka Irrigation Minister, DK Shivakumar said, "Mumbai is known for its hospitality.

It is a matter of shame." On Wednesday, a hotel in Mumbai where Congress-JD(S) rebel MLAs are staying, cancelled DK Shivakumar booking citing 'some emergency'.

Police have invoked the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and imposed Section 144 around the hotel.

DK Shivakumar arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday morning to make a last-ditch attempt to pacify the rebel MLAs stationed at a luxury hotel. Meanwhile, Section 144 (prohibits an assembly of more than four people in an area) imposed at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru from July 11-July 14.
