"A few years back the number of Rhinos was around 50 and now you see here it’s thriving in Kaziranga. Hats off to the people here who are working for the conversation of rhinos in Kaziranga", he said.

"Over the past two weeks, I have learnt that everybody in Assam loves the rhino and it’s heartwarming to see so much love for a particular animal. Everybody here understands the value of the animal and they protect and serve the animal with sheer dedication. Being the state animal of Assam, rhino as a symbol is used everywhere and it’s very special," he added.

"Again, the more I travel, the more I meet the dedicated people of India, who serve the animals. It’s so inspiring! Animals first, everything else follows. India should be so proud to have such hard-working and selfless citizens," he said.

Notably, Kevin Pietersen, after retiring from cricket, has involved himself in raising awareness on conservation of rhino.
