New Delhi: Commenting on the controversial statement made by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan while speaking at India History Congress when historian Irfan Habib tried to interrupt him, senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that he should resign from the post of governor and instead join politics.
Quoting activist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in his speech, the Governor of Kerala had said, "The partition took the dirt away but some potholes were left behind, where water has collected and now it is stinking."
Alvi attacked Khan and said, "Such statements do not suit a governor. He is a governor and should act accordingly."
