Chitradurga: Jilladagondi village in Karnataka's Chitradurga district has been deprived of government facilities for the last 50 years. Everything that is called a ‘basic amenity’ in today’s world is lacking here, whether it is clean drinking water or electricity or an access road to the village.
The village belongs to the Molakalmuru Constituency of Health Minister B. Sriramulu and more than 40 families live in the village. Even as the State Government has introduced a number of welfare schemes, these have failed to yield the desired results and benefit the people in the remote pockets of the district.
For the last 50 years, the village lacks access to essential amenities like electricity, potable water, road connectivity and healthcare facilities.
In the absence of roads in the village, people here use rafts for travelling as there is no road to reach the city.
